We want our alumni to be social and supportive
Our new Alumni Relations team is focused on long- term relationship building rather than fundraising. We’re harnessing support from former students to help current students with their career plans and as ambassadors to prospective students and business partners. As our Online Community Specialist, you’ll focus on using your social media experience to get our alumni talking, supporting and involved in what we’re doing.
It’s time for a bit of a shake-up. And we’re looking to you to use your new media knowledge to generate innovative online communities to get our alumni excited about our students, academics and business activity. We want you to create online networks that tap into our Alumni and maximise their support, engaging alumni from different locations and with different personal and career interests. It’s a varied role that will see you getting involved with anything from managing social media campaigns and updating content, to interacting live with members, monitoring trends and reviewing activity in line with this and scoping out ever more efficient processes.
You’re a bit of a self-starter and an online guru with a particular talent for social media – which you’ll demonstrate through your impressive portfolio of work (we’ll expect you to show your body of work online). On top of your ability to create online communities, we’ll also need you to back this with excellent writing skills, good humour and experience of working with Google Analytics (or similar), SEO, CMS and tagging.
Middlesex University is going places. Focussing on the skills our students need for work and life, we’ve strived to provide a student experience that acknowledges that education and career paths know no boundaries. With our roots in London – and campuses in Dubai and Mauritius – we’ve gathered expert academics, provided superb facilities, set up excellent support groups (including a world class alumni network) and created a range of courses that are designed to engage and excite our students so that they get off to the very best start in life.
We can only be world-class if our people support what we do. As such, we make sure we listen, involve and reward them – so that they too are motivated and excited about our future. We offer a generous 30 days’ leave plus 6 University days in addition to Bank Holidays; competitive salaries; a generous maternity leave package and other types of leave for parents and carers of dependants; a pension; flexible working and childcare support.
