Digital Project Manager – 12 month maternity cover starting September 2012
Great British Chefs (www.greatbritishchefs.com) are looking for an efficient and passionate Digital Project Manager to join the team on a 12 month maternity cover contract.
Launched last Summer, Great British Chefs is a premium digital publisher that provides food lovers with great recipes, tips and how to videos from over 65 of Great Britain’s most awarded chefs. Our content is shared through our website, award winning apps (listed in The Sunday Times Top 500 Apps, App Magazine’s ‘Top 100 Apps Ever’ and winner of a European Lovie Award) and vibrant social media platforms, which includes over 80,000 Facebook fans.
This is an exciting position for the right individual with a creative and dedicated approach who is excited about the opportunities and challenges of being involved in a fast moving digital start-up.
As Digital Project Manager you will be working on complex digital projects spanning website design and builds and mobile applications.
Managing the full life cycle of the website development from scoping of tasks, to planning and delivery. You will be overseeing the implementation of new areas within the site and also re-designs of existing elements.
You will be responsible for maintaining existing applications, systems and services by raising bugs, managing the process and making sure they are closed.
The Great British Chefs website is in constant evolution, so you will be briefing designers and other freelancers on new page layouts and managing their workflow.
You will help Great British Chefs further establish itself as world-class app developer and move us to the next level by planning and scoping as far as possible to ensure we are future-proof.
You will create all new app documentation for app developers: brief and functional specs, manage timings and budgets for the project.
You will coordinate the creation of design assets and intro videos, as well as the development and generation of DB tables and generic copy for the app.
You will liaise with the content team and asset manager to meet all deadlines.
Additionally, you will be responsible for checking and responding to all app user queries
Ideally you will have hands-on experience of developing accessible, search engine friendly, web standards compliant websites and are familiar with agile development and working in sprints.
You know good web design when you see it.
You have project managed the development of mobile applications and are familiar with the processes involved,
You have experience with content management systems, such as Kentico or similar.
You are a perfectionist who is passionate about delivering excellence on time and to budget.
You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and are confident in presenting your views to all people within an organisation from providers and in-house developers to higher management and stakeholders.
You are extremely organised and can keep multiple large projects running smoothly.
