Debenhams is one of the leading multi-channel brands on the high street with 160 stores in the UK and Republic of Ireland, over 50 international franchise stores, and an exciting program of future store openings.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Online Marketing Team as a SEO Manager. Reporting to the Senior Online Marketing Manager and managing one Online Marketing Assistant, you will manage the relationship with our SEO agency and plan and implement the SEO strategy for Debenhams in order to protect and grow traffic from natural search from both desktop and mobile.
Key responsibilities for the role are to:
Manage the relationship with our SEO agency, make efficient use of budget and maximise results
Define SEO targets and monitor performance across keyword lists for the different divisions
Report weekly on SEO traffic at a detailed level and monitor cause and effect of changes
Set up and co-ordinate regular SEO training sessions for stakeholders / new starters
Provide SEO recommendations to content, product and development teams
Be fully involved in future technical site developments, identify opportunities/risks for SEO
Manage / prioritise a road map of future SEO site developments
Work closely with PR and social media teams to maximise SEO opportunities
Work with paid search team to align overall strategies and maximise budgets
Keep up to date with all new SEO developments and educate relevant internal stakeholders
Manage one Online Marketing Assistant and define priorities which will deliver maximum results
In order to succeed this is busy role we are looking for an SEO specialist with agency or client side experience ideally within Retail.
You’ll need an in-depth knowledge of web and mobile SEO best practice, with a passion for search. You’ll also need to be familiar with overseeing Google Webmaster Tools account.
Knowledge of attribution modelling/reporting and an awareness of implementing and managing tracking tags (in particular via TagMan container) would be preferred but are not essential
You’ll be analytically strong and confident with Excel and able to analyse data and convey recommendations to management team. This requires you to be a persuasive communicator who can influence senior stakeholders and team members alike.
