About the role
Put simply, you’ll drive the successful delivery of our bold new digital publishing strategy. The strategy has been created to move us away from traditional dissemination methods to ensure that we’re making the most of all available digital and social media channels. It’s a strategy that will radically change the way people see ONS and position us as a leader in emerging trends and developments within rich media, social media and the use of infographics.
Leading a multidisciplinary team of “storytellers”, including designers, developers, data analysts and communication experts, you’ll develop and deliver innovative rich content for our website and other channels, including social media and mobile. Managing the team and projects work, you’ll work with other areas of ONS to identify, assess and commission new rich content opportunities. By developing rich content, using digital channels in new and exciting ways, you’ll help to increase the reach of our work and our engagement with all our target audiences.
A natural leader you should have an in-depth and up-to-the-minute understanding of web technologies, platforms and trends, coupled with practical experience of commissioning and developing rich web content. We’d also, ideally, like you to have delivered innovative high profile products for a wide audience. Of course, you’ll need to be an inspiring leader of people and projects. Confident balancing competing demands, you’ll be quick to win the respect of peers and senior managers, gaining their buy-in and backing for your innovative ideas.
