Lightmaker - A superb digital agency with a very attractive client portfolio including Man Utd, Fulham FC, Eurotunnel Le Shuttle, Channel 4, RBS and Wayne Rooney are looking for an energetic, bright, articulate business development manager to join a fun, knowledgeable and hard-working sales & marketing team to win and manage new clients.

Business Development Managers are responsible for identifying and converting digital new business opportunities from prospective and current clients – this includes writing sometimes complex  sales proposals (with support from all contributing departments) attending sales pitches and obtaining the necessary commercial assurance (with the support of the Commercial Director)

The main duties of the position are:
•    Lead generation by phone, presenting Lightmaker’s credentials, pitching solutions, negotiation and closing deals
•    Working to a quarterly/annual sales target
•    Responding to briefs, tenders and requests for information in a timely manner
•    Writing response proposals, sometimes complex
•    Attending client pitches/new business meetings
•    Developing compelling ideas in response to client briefs and drafting sales proposals;
•    Establishing a thorough understanding of your clients business/brand objectives including their expectations around ROI for projects in discussion;
•    Preparing cost estimates for proposals, in accordance with Lightmaker’s procedure;
•    Co-ordination of the pitch process by assembling the relevant team and providing them with a summary of the clients’ needs in order to establish recommendations;
Business Development Managers report directly into the Head of Sales & Marketing. Also liaison with Lightmakers project managers, strategy team, directors and senior managers who will provide support.

BDM’s are involved in the entire sales cycle of projects and it is imperative you have worked in a digital environment before and understand the various stages of a digital design and build project
•    At least 5 years’ experience in a digital environment
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•    Excellent client facing/handling skills
•    Confident to work towards an annual sales target
•    Knowledge of the digital landscape, latest trends and innovations
You will also be able to travel to Tunbridge Wells daily
