Further information

The main purpose of this role is to manage the Tessitura application suite and act as the lead data architect for customer and ticketing information.

The Tessitura application is crucial to the success of SC. It stores 2m customer records and processes almost £30m of our annual income. As such the quality of the data and its functionality is absolutely key to support many of the core aspects of our business such as marketing, fundraising and our artistic programme. The role of Tessitura is also expanding rapidly to support new areas of digital innovation such as mobile ticketing, content personalisation and linked data. SC is also one of the few UK arts organisations leading the way in providing a managed data and application service to other performing arts organisations. This is another area of significant opportunity and possible funding, for this role to lead on.

This role therefore has a critical role to play in the future success of SC. At one level it will make sure the application is maintained, kept secure and up to date. It will provide a range of reliable and high quality services to all users including technical support, data extractions, report writing, configurations, training and advice on new requirements.  At another level the role will lead and support innovative digital initiatives. This requires not just a detailed expert knowledge of the application, its technology and the data model it supports, but also an inquisitive and open mind, an infectious excitement about the art of the possible and above all else a willingness to work with imagination and enthusiasm with all areas of the organisation.

So overall the Tessitura Database Manager is there to make sure we get the most out of this fantastic system. In doing so they will also play a leading role in the wider community, working closely with Tessitura themselves, participating actively in the annual US and UK conference, representing Southbank Centre and ensuring we continuously grow and nurture our ideas about what is possible.

The role is fully responsible for the Tessitura suite of systems including: Tessitura, TStats, RMA, WordFly, TNSPay, QAS and NScan. The also role line manages the Tessitura Database Analyst and manages project budgets where applicable.  For anyone who loves the arts, wants to see arts organisation do more wonderful and exciting things and see the direct impact that this can have on an audience then this is a fantastic opportunity.
