Lead Web Engineer About the role

A lead web engineer is needed for one of the world's biggest and most successful ecommerce retail sites. The role will involve leading teams through a major replatforming into React with the aim of making the customer's experience different to all other ecommerce sites. The role involves leading teams, not through direct man-management, but more through leading by example in a hands-on fashion.

About you

You will preferably have experience working on ecommerce sites yourself, or a similarly large scale site with high traffic. As well as this, having lead teams through projects previously is important for this role. The general tech stack would be working with React, Redux, Babel, Webpack, modern JavaScript (ES6), SASS. The lead developer must have experience with TDD practices, in particular experience with Jasmine, Jest or Enzyme. A massive part of this role is understanding how to work to best practices such as DRY, KISS and YAGNI - but being able to apply those practices, not just an understanding.

About the company

The company is a major player in the fashion ecommerce sector, being one of the largest in its industry. They're currently undergoing a huge replatforming to change the site's look and how it performs. It's a great time to join the team, as this company is expanding over all areas of the company.

Benefits

40% discount off the retail products and early access to sample sales, £5,500 flexi-cash package and early finish in some Summer days.
